Every year there are a series of 'Mods' in Scotland. Mods are festivals which celebrate Gaelic culture through traditional music and arts. The largest of the Mods takes place in October in a different town each year. It's affectionately known as the 'Whisky Olympics'.

These two happy boys were photographed before performing at a Mod.

The relationship between the arts and religion has never been easy. The islands are predominately Presbyterian and they hold that making music and dancing is sinful, especially on the Sabbath.
